It appears at least from the ground that the repairs were done properly.

The man who came out did fine. It’s hard to see what was done, since it’s on the roof, but from all appearances, the job was done properly and with care and attention.

Overall, I am very pleased. I am especially pleased with how responsive the company was at addressing my concerns. That said, I don’t think a return trip would have been needed had basic installation procedures been implemented. For example, when I visited that first morning, we talked about screwing the gutter guard to the fascia because I wanted to point out that the rear of the house has metal fascia. In the end, none of the gutter guard had been screwed to the fascia despite our conversation and despite that being a basic part of the installation procedures. I also talked about the four downspout strainers that needed to be removed and it was acknowledged. Further, one had already been removed. Yet, two of the three strainers were still installed under the gutter guard that I removed myself. That’s why I discovered that none of the gutter guard had been screwed to the fascia. Then there was the problem with the spacing between the strips of gutter guard. In the end, a wonderful job was done overlapping the pieces as is recommended, but not required, in the installation procedures. I will point out that after this last visit, although everything is fine, the left half of the gutter guard in the front of the house on the second story was not re-screwed into the fascia. Fortunately, enough screws were left laying around so that I can do this remaining work myself. I just don’t understand how basic installation procedures are being forgotten or not completed. Again, overall I’m pleased. Screwing the remaining gutter guard won’t take long. However, if attention were paid to the basics (and the detail) then no return trip (let alone two trips) would have been necessary.

Overall, a very good experience. Meeting with Joe van Dyke set the right tone. I might recommend, however, that you do send someone up on the roof to look at the initial evaluation. One of the other companies I considered did this, and even though you apparently don’t find it necessary, it would have prevented in this case an uncomfortable period where I continued to have water leaking in even after the new roof was placed. To your credit, you got the crew chief ( I think his name was Sal) and Dave Humphries out promptly, and I am persuaded (I hope correctly!) that the leak is actually related to my old window casements. Clean up was great, and the job was done on time. You responded promptly to my various emails as well.

I received 3 estimates from 3 different companies. I choose another company due to better pricing and greater amount of work they would perform for the better pricing. The company seems to be reputable. I would recommend them.

It was a little slow to get an estimate but when I did get it the work proceeded fairly soon after that.
Company Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to review us. We’re very sorry about the delay with the estimate and are very glad that all ended up to your satisfaction.

Member Comments: I had them come out for an estimate for some water damage and they came to the house on time gave my wife no information not even a card to have me follow up. He just told her he would get an estimate shortly to us. In addition, my wife asked him to give me a call before he looked at the house but he said that wasn’t needed. One month later and nothing no calls, emails or mail. If you cant follow up on an estimate how can I be sure you would even do the work. Update: The owner called me personally and fixed the issues that I had with them and I went ahead and used them to do the work and it came out great.

Member Comments: The quote was good but I always get two quotes so I know how to compare them. He came out, talked about it, and looked at it but I didn’t get the quote for a long time. They sent it via email but it didn’t come through so I had to call them and they resent it. They were thorough and professional but they failed to split the bid between what insurance would cover and what it would not like I asked.

Member Comments: We got estimates from two other companies too, but we chose St Joseph’s Roofing Inc. The weather has been so bad that they have not been able to start work. The roof is still filled with snow. The person who came out was very polite and seemed to know what he was talking about. He wasn’t pushy unlike a salesman from another company who wanted to charge more than three times as much as St Joseph’s Roofing did. They keep calling us to see if the snow is gone so that they can start the work

” They responded to my email promptly, and Mark came out to do a free estimate. He notified me that he would be a few minutes late, but otherwise was prompt. He emailed me the estimate from the parking lot; unfortunately my older computer would not download this file, so I asked him to mail me an estimate – which was promptly done. Mark said he would contact me to set up a time for the work. After about a week or so, I called the office and after getting in contact with Mark again, was informed that the work had already been done. I had not gotten a call or a message before this. This portion of my roof is very difficult to see (I live in a townhouse), so I had not immediately noticed that the work had been done. I would have preferred to witness the work had been done (so that I could actually see the workers re-secure the other rake wrap). But from what I can see the work has been done, and I presume was done within a week of the acceptance of the contract. I had planned on paying the bill by credit card, but was notified that there is an extra 3% charge to pay by credit card. There is also a 1.5% penalty for not paying within 10 days – Since I was not notified of when the work was completed, I was not in receipt of the bill at the completion of the contract. After a phone call confirmed the work was completed, I was emailed my bill. I tried to call and pay by credit card, but was informed that there was an extra 3% charge to pay by credit card. So I now have 7 days to get my check to the company. I would recommend this company, but be aware of their payment restrictions and requirements. I looked all over the website and could not find information about these payment requirements.”
